Back in November, when Nokia announced that the Nokia N8 “has received the highest amount of consumer pre-orders” in its history, it didn’t say how many units it sold (or expects to sell).
Now we’re hearing that Nokia may have shipped as many as 4 million N8 units around the world since launch ( early October) – thus in a quarter.
According to Finland-based research company Inderes Oy, the number of Nokia N8 sold is somewhere between 3.5 and 4 million.
Reportedly, the N8 is very popular in the following countries: India, Finland, the UAE, and Malaysia.
4 million is certainly not bad, but it’s nowhere near the number of iPhones sold (14 million in the third quarter of the year). Also, it’s most likely less than the number of Samsung Galaxy S units sold this quarter.
It should be interesting to see how many Nokia C7 will be sold – the C7 being slightly cheaper than the N8, although it has almost similar features.
